It’s that time of year again! If you’re in the mood for fine dining and an experience that’ll last you all year long than this is the event for you. Presented by Bacardi USA, the 6th annual Coral Gables Restaurant Week festivities are in full swing starting June 10, 2013. From Miracle Mile to Alhambra Plaza, more than 30 restaurants are participating in this event and the best part is that it’s three weeks long this year.
To kick off the event and guarantee you’ll want to participate throughout the week, the city is hosting Taste of the Gables on June 6th. Located at the Westin Colonnade Hotel, the plans for the night include sampling gourmet cuisines and a variety of drinks from 20 different restaurants in the Coral Gables area – all for $35. This is a great opportunity to get a taste of some new restaurants such as Swine Southern Table & Bar and Sushi Samba.
As the night comes to a close, the restaurants prepare for three weeks of constant business. What makes this event unlike any other is that the participating restaurants are offering three course meals with at least a 20% discount off regularly priced menu items. Although not required, those planning on attending should make reservations since this deal only comes around once a year. Some of the restaurants included in this event are Benihana, Caffe Vialetto, Cibo Wine Bar, Seasons 52 and many more. There is sure to be something for everyone since the restaurants vary from steak to sushi and of course, what would an event be in Miami without some food from the Hispanic culture. You can’t forget about a signature drink that makes the event unique. This year, the must have drink is the Bacardi Mojito so those 21 and over should definitely make sure to get one while indulging in everything Coral Gables Restaurant Week has to offer.
Not only are the finest restaurants in Coral Gables offering discounts, but some will host special events. There will be a Pizza Making Class at Cibo Wine Bar, a Wine Pairing Dinner at Seasons 52, a Midnight Chef’s Table Dinner at Swine and ”Enchilada Madness” at Talavera. Reservations required.
The dates of these special events as well as a list of participating restaurants can be found at www.coralgablesrestaurantweek.com.
A tip for those planning on attending… Make sure to ask for the Coral Gables Restaurant Week prix fixe menu at all participating locations. There is plenty of parking near the restaurants with metered spaces as well valet stations and garages surrounding the area. This event ends June 30th.
