The Delano has always been one of the chicest spots to grab a drink, whether at the lobby bar, poolside or Bianca’s al fresco terrace. Now, we can add another gem to the list. Last week, Media Room debuted as the Delano’s newest and most exclusive area for couch-side cocktailing.
Grabbing a seat here however, is just about as tough as securing a cabana at the hotel’s White Rabbit Pool Party. This 800 square-foot room has about 20 seats available to hotel guests only (or in my case, by special invitation). But if you are one of the fortunate few to snag a ticket, then you’ll get to experience some serious cocktails conceptualized by Delano’s own FDR lead mixologst, Justin D’Angelo.
Here you’ll find a short, but very sweet list of cinematic themed cocktails like The Dirty Girl (Jack Daniels, Blood Orange, and Ginger Beer), Inglorious Bastards (Bacardi OakHeart, St. Germaine, lime and mint), or My Week with Marilyn (Patron Silver, Watermelon, and Fresno Chiles).
The real showstopper however, is the The Artist. This masterpiece is made with Grey Goose Cherry Noir, Amaretto Godiva White Chocolate and for it’s grand finale, a generously sugared rim… because when our favorite sweets like Milk Duds and Sno-Caps aren’t available, this indulgent cocktail is an adequate, liquefied substitute.
